New Social Services Head Is Appointed

Miss Mary Julia Hogan, former district director of the Greater Boston Family Service Association, has been named the new executive secretary of the Catholic Social Services in Atlanta, the Chancery office announced this week.

Miss Hogan who assumes her duties November 15 will take over the social service position under the direction of the Rev. Walter Donovan.

She is a graduate of St. Mary of the Springs College, Columbus, Ohio and was awarded her master’s degree by the School of Social Work, University of Pittsburgh.

Miss Hogan has served as assistant director of social services at the Guadalupe Center, Kansas City, Mo. and as child welfare consultant and staff supervisor, Kansas Child Welfare Division, Topeka, Kansas.

She also served as instructor at the St. Louis University School of Social Service.

Miss Hogan was also supervisor of Catholic Family Counseling, Boston, Mass.
