A native of Richmond, Virginia, Father started his elementary education in Gordonsville, Virginia, and finished it at Sacred Heart in Atlanta. After a year at Marist he entered the Seminary in Washington in 1915, and was ordained at St. Dominic’s, Washington, D.C. June 17, 1925. In addition to his general parish duties, Father Perry has always been active with the Knights of Columbus. Besides being local chaplain here in Marietta and elsewhere, he also served as the state chaplain for five years.

Many converts around Atlanta will remember Father Perry for the weekly inquiry classes at Sacred Heart which he established.

Father Clarence J. Biggers, pastor at St. Joseph’s Parish, announces that a farewell reception is being held for Father Perry next Sunday, August 11, in the St. Joseph’s cafeteria in Marietta from 7:30 P.M. to 9:30 P.M.
