Good Friday in Atlanta

Published April 10, 2014

I recently wrote about the variety of ways the Atlanta Catholic community observes Good Friday.

While many parishes mark the day with the traditional Stations of the Cross, others have embraced events with actors, pageantry and an immersive experience recreating Jesus’ last hours.

Another option is the 34th Good Friday pilgrimage in downtown Atlanta. I’ve done it before and will likely do it this year. You see the city – and the community – in a new light as you walk slowly and chant prayers on city sidewalks besides students, the homeless, folks dressed to the nines heading to the office.  Please click on this link to see an interactive map for the walk.
